The publication

We collaborate with local artists who are defining their city's creative tone, publishing original pieces inspired by the city itself. Through their work, these writers and artists are shaping the culture of their cities: recording it, celebrating it, challenging it, changing it. We curate all of these voices and mediums together to capture a unique sense of place.

Each volume is designed to be both engaging and beautiful; something to linger over. It's a time capsule of a city, and an introduction to the art coming out of it today.

The people

Into Quarterly was founded by Laura Benys and Virginia Sasser, a writing and design duo based out of Austin and Brooklyn. We're grateful to the growing list of individuals and businesses who have shared their support, especially our contributors — who include award-winning artists and best-selling authors as well as emerging talents and new voices. Whether it's a short story set in a back alley, a photo essay on punk subculture, or an illustrative take on drinking tequila, we're proud to share unique work by these artists, and feature them side by side with their creative communities.
